In 1974, Polly Harrison published her first
moon calendar, which was a graphic display chart
of the lunar phases of the moon for a year.
During 34 years of publication, she became known
as "The Moon Lady" and "Polly Moon" from Africa
to Japan. Her customers quickly turned into
the most wonderful friends all over the world.
"The Moon has such a strong influence on the Earth's Tides,
movement of her creatures, weather, farming, fishing...
I wanted to be able to see the ebb and flow of Her phases."
- Polly Harrison
Polly coordinated the One-Lunatic Operation out of her studio in Cedartown, GA.
At her request, the art of the moon calendar was passed to her daughter
in late 2007 when she passed away after a very brave fight with cancer.
The calendars will continue to be produced in her honor by her daughter,
Angelia Harrison Black, beginning with the 2009 calendar.
The Moon Calendar is currently in 42 of the United States,
13 countries, and 5 continents (North America, Europe, Africa, Australia & Asia).
Art galleries, bookstores, schools, safari companies, resorts, hotels and
individual moon watchers continue to display the calendars each year.
